From Tuesday 23rd April 2019 we have new opening hours!

We are open 8.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday ; with longer sessions until 3pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for our older children.

During this time we have registration, free play, show and tell, craft, story time, snack time and outside play.  We get outside, whatever the weather, every day.  Some days we have Balanceability and we have a football coach teach ball skills to the children weekly.

Once we have done this, we all sit down together with staff and have our lunch (packed lunch brought from home). This is a lovely opportunity to have a chat and learn to eat independently.

For children who are in their final year at Frant Nursery, we offer “Rising 5s” on a Monday and Wednesday. All the younger children leave at 1pm and the Rising 5s stay until 3pm. In this time they use “older” toys and play board games and as the group is smaller, there is much more one-to-one with the staff. These sessions help prepare your child for a good start to Primary School.

From Easter 2019 we will be offering an extended session on a Tuesday, until 3pm, for those in their final year and their penultimate year at Nursery (if your child starts Primary in 2019 or 2020).

We prefer that each child attends a minimum of two mornings per week as this really helps with making firm friends and learning our routines.

Starting at Frant Nursery

Your child can start at Frant Nursery anytime from their second birthday. We happily accept children at any time during the school year. If we have a number of children starting at the same time we will stagger their first days to ensure the staff are able to give them their full attention if required.

Some two year olds can be eligible for funding and you must contact East Sussex County Council to see if you qualify for the funding. All 3 and 4 year olds are eligible for funding and will receive the funding from the term after they turn 3 (e.g. if your child is born in February, you will receive the funding after Easter in the Summer Term).

  • All funded 3&4 year old children pay only £9.95 per session (8.30am-1pm)
  • Funded 2 year olds pay £2.15 per session (8.30am-1pm)
  • Non-funded children pay £4.75 per hour (£22 per session)
  • Rising 5 and Tuesday pm sessions are £4.75 per hour (1-3pm). These are non-funded hours.

We accept childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare for payment of fees and are registered with most schemes.
